13, 2009 - 9:20pm - Unit #220 assisted a female motorist with a
flat tire on northbound I—55 past Butler Hill Road. A tow
truck was already en route to the scene when he arrived. 220 saw
the flat tire on the left front driver’s side and thought
nothing of it. However, when the AAA operator showed up, he changed
the tire on the right front passenger’s side. 220 informed
the driver that there was a flat on her side of the car, which she
failed to notice. This prompted the AAA guy to call for a AAA tow
truck. The vehicle was eventually picked up and towed off.

and a list of towing companies in the area to calm her nerves. Within
minutes, the woman found a towing company and patiently waited for
it to arrive. During that time, a Creve Coeur Police officer stopped
and asked 220 if everything was okay, and 220 informed him what
was going on. The officer relayed to dispatch about the motorist

16, 2009 - 12:05am - On a bitterly cold night, 220 spotted and assisted
two stranded motorists in a vehicle on northbound I-270 north of
I-64. The temperature was 2F, with a wild chill of -12F when the
vehicle was spotted. At first, it looked as if nobody was in the
vehicle because the hazard lights were on and the back window was
iced over. But when 220 walked up to the driver’s side door,
he found two occupants freezing in the cold vehicle. The vehicle
had run out of fuel, and the occupants had been sitting in the freezing
car for over 90 minutes. Help was supposed to have been en route,
but had not showed yet. According to one of the occupants, a police
officer had stopped by one time to see how they were doing and never
returned. 220 and the two occupants retreated to the warmth of 220’s
truck and stayed there until help arrived an hour later. The two
occupants were very thankful and appreciative of 220’s help.

the left turn lane with cones and his vehicle while the fire department
did their thing. A fireman then told him to leave the area ten minutes
later. According to the fireman, he did not want traffic control
at the intersection. Five minutes later, 220 witnessed two vehicles
trying to make a left turn through the accident scene as he sat
parked on the QT parking lot.
