2, 2007 - 9:15pm - Unit #220 assisted two Sunset Hills Police officers
as they removed debris from northbound I-270 just north of Gravois
Road. A report of a ladder in the roadway was the reason for the
cleanup. 220 was the first to arrive on scene and he noticed several
vehicles on the outer shoulder with their hazard lights on. When
he got out of his vehicle he noticed parts of the ladder all over
the highway as other motorists continued to travel over the pieces.
dragging them into other lanes of traffic. One Sunset Hills officer
shutdown the highway and started to pick up the debris as 220 assisted
by being a lookout for the officer. A secondary officer arrived
two minutes later. Only two vehicles were damaged and needed police
reports.

10, 2007 - 9:15pm - Unit #220 attempted to assist a stranded motorist
on the inside lane of eastbound I-44 close to the Meramec River
Bridge. When 220 arrived on the scene, he spotted a red Dodge Ram
pickup that had completely lost a tire on the driver's side rear
of the vehicle. Plus, the vehicle was partially on the yellow line,
creating a further hazard (one that would require immediate police
attention). 220 contacted the Sunset Hills Police dispatcher by
cell and told him of the situation. The dispatcher sent an officer
to the area but it was not Sunset Hills' jurisdiction. 220 then
contacted St Louis County Police and gave them the info. Twenty
minutes later, a Fenton Police officer arrived on the scene and
took control. He thanked 220 for sticking around. The vehicle was
eventually towed and removed from the highway.

on westbound I-44, west of I-270. When he arrived on the scene,

man declined. 220 left the scene.

on the highway, 220 responded to a vehicle accident on Hwy 109 at
West 5th Street in Eureka. Multiple units were called to the scene.
When 220 arrived on scene a few minutes later, he assisted the Eureka
Police & Fire Departments with traffic control near the intersection
while injuries were being tended to and reports being written. Two
vehicles were involved in a head-on collision with multiple injuries
to both drivers and passengers.
April
9, 2007 - 10:35am - Unit #220 assisted two stranded motorists sitting
in a vehicle on Hwy 100 near Old Hwy 109. The driver explained that
the car had died and would not turn over. 220 asked if the driver
needed a tow service and the driver stated yes. 220 provided a list
of towing companies in the area and waited for the driver's final
decision. The driver (upon remembering that he had OnStar) returned
the list to 220 and thanked him for his help. |
