car.

him directions to a nearby tire store.

two very shaken up teenage girls in the car. They said they didn't
know the person in the van. 02 calmed them down and inspected the
car. He found transmission fluid leaking from the car. 02 remained
with the girls until their father arrived. He put transmission fluid
in the car and they got the car going again. The car died again
further down the Interstate so 02 stopped behind them again with
his lights on. They decided to call a tow truck. The tow truck arrived
and the driver decided it was too dangerous to hook up the car because
of road construction. 02 blocked off one lane of traffic so the
tow truck driver could hook up the car. The family thanked 02 for

and 220 were on I-44 in Fenton, MO when 77 called them. They immediately
headed towards the city (12 miles away). They got to the scene and

any water and 65 supplied him with 2.5 gallons of water. He couldn't
get the truck started so 65 supplied him with a list of tow truck
phone numbers. While waiting for the tow truck, a Sunset Hills Police
Car pulled up behind 65. The first thing the officer said to 65
was "I could see your lights from far away". 65 explained

involved with their lights on and closed two lanes of traffic. 54
(a volunteer firefighter) ran up to check on the drivers while 65

passerby on the scene called 911 before 220 arrived. A Missouri
State Highway Patrol officer arrived within two minutes and 220
assisted by giving the officer brief information on injuries. 220

the tow truck arrived. While waiting, a City of Kirkwood Police
Officer pulled up behind 65. 65 explained the situation to the officer
and the officer asked 65 if he was going to remain at the scene.
65 said "sure" and the officer said "good, because
I really don't want to". Unit #220 arrived on the scene a few
minutes later and he also remained at the scene until the tow truck
arrived.

May 27, 2001 - 11:20pm - Unit #220 and
#65 stopped on the shoulder of eastbound I-44 just east of Lewis

them for stopping.

behind the motorist until the tow truck arrived.

May 29, 2001 - 10:30pm - Unit #65 and
#220 were on westbound I-44 at Antire Rd. when they saw a vehicle
accident on eastbound I-44 just west of Antire Road. A pick up heading
east had crashed into the concrete wall in the middle of the Interstate.
A volunteer firefighter was at the scene first and was behind the
truck but he only had a light facing forward. 220 stopped on the
inside westbound shoulder to check on the driver and 65 turned on
his strobes and headlight flashers and continued west to turn around
at Lewis Road. 65 came back eastbound and stopped on the inside
shoulder about fifty yards behind the accident to warn approaching
drivers. Two St. Louis County Police Cars arrived about thirty seconds
later and stopped directly behind the accident. The officers put
out flares and closed the left lane. 220 came back eastbound and
stopped futher back around the curve to warn drivers. 65 and 220
remained at the scene until police re-opened the lane about thirty
minutes later. One of the officers waved a thank you to 65 before
leaving.
