8, 2000 - 9:35pm - Unit #65 assisted a stranded motorist
on the shoulder of eastbound I-44 at Highway 141. 65 called a tow
truck for the motorist and stayed behind him with his lights on
until it showed. He then conveyed some of the family to a nearby
gas station.

July 29, 2000 - 9:15pm - Unit #220 assisted
a motorist (and his wife) that had run out of fuel along eastbound
I-44 just west of Highway 141. 220 heard the original call on his
scanner and responded within 1 minute of the call, he then proceeded
to get fuel from a nearby gas station and returned within 10 minutes.
Unit #65 also heard the call over his scanner and pulled up behind
the same vehicle while #220 was getting fuel. The motorist was impressed
at our response time and was quick to say "This is really neat!
We have nothing like this in Paducah, Kentucky". A gallon of
fuel later, the driver was on his way. A St. Louis County Police
officer also arrived on the scene.
July 29, 2000 - 9:45pm - Unit #220 assisted
a motorist in a church bus that was stranded on westbound I-44 at
the Beaumont/Antire Road exit ramp with a flat tire. Unfortunately,
he could not assist in changing of the tire. He did, however, provide
a list of phone numbers so that the motorist could locate a tow
truck company. The motorist was heading to Six Flags in Eureka,
Missouri to pick up his church group for the ride back to St. Louis
City.
July 29, 2000 - 11:45pm - Unit #220 tried
to assist a motorist that was stranded on I-270 north of J.J. Kelly
Memorial Drive in Des Peres. It appeared that the motorist had run
out of fuel, but after fueling the vehicle, the car would not start.
The vehicle was eventually towed at the owner's request.
