Thank You Letters We Have Received

"Dear unit #220,
I just wanted to say thank you for your kindness and assistance Saturday night when my car overheated on I-270. It was a very scary situation for me to be there alone and things may have gone worse for me had you not been around. Thank you for waiting with me even when my parents and the tow truck arrived to make sure we were safely on our way.
I think it is very generous of you to donate your time to helping people this way. My mom called you my guardian angel for being there when I needed help. You really went above and beyond the call of duty for me. Thank you so much for everything."

Sincerely,
Tara M.

"On Feb. 2, 2001 I had car problems on I-44 between Fenton and Beaumont/Antire Road. This was the first big problem that my car had ever had. Before this incident I had never heard of your group. As I waited for a friend to come and pick me up so that I could call the tow truck one of your cars pulled up. He was willing to wait until my friend arrived. I would just like to say thank you. It is good to know that I am not alone if I should have another problem, which I hope I don't. Once again thank you."

"Dear REACT,
On 2/4/01 my sister and I had a flat tire. We had called 911 on my cell phone because we are both widowed and it was bitter cold. It was 4 in the afternoon and we were returning from our fathers in St Louis. He hasn't been well and we were concerned about him, when we felt that movement that tells you get to the shoulder. Our knight in shining armor arrived at 4:20 in the person of unit 220, not from AAA or state patrol but from your organization. Although we were not in your area in MO. , he didn't hesitate to come to our aid. He was polite, pleasant, helpful, etc. you name it, we were impressed. He wouldn't take any money. We will forever be in his debt. Thanks again to your volunteer."

"Dear unit #220,
We would like to thank you very much for helping us when our car stopped on Highway 65 between Branson and Springfield, MO. You jump started our car and followed us to Springfield. We want to thank you again. We feel someone was looking over us on our trip."

Thanks,
Joyce and Orval H.

"I wanted to let you know how much our department appreciated the tireless effort your REACT team put forth at the South County Fair. Parking details at Jefferson Barracks are notoriously hectic and the REACT crew was a great asset in swinging traffic as well as dealing with the public. Your internal communications set-up was also instrumental in aiding the flow of information between our groups. I look forward to working with you in the future and encourage you to keep in touch, as will I, regarding future events."

"Late Feb. 3rd, 2002, I was forced to pull over on the shoulder on 44 at Lewis Rd. My car lost all power including all lights. Having to stop in the middle on the bridge there wasn't much room. Traffic including semi-trucks passed by just inches for me. No longer than 2 or 3 minutes later a Tri -County-REACT truck pulled up behind me. He gave me information I needed and waited until I left with the tow truck. Thanks to unit 220 and his flashing lights a bad situation could have been much worse."

"Thank you guys for your help with the 2003 Mississippi Valley 24 Hour Challenge, I appreciate it. The event would be sorely at a loss without your help. I especially liked the setup on IL 161 on the night route. I think you did the job of slowing traffic down. They probably thought a UFO had landed...LOL."

"Just wanted to say thanks for all your efforts with the 24 hour challenge! There aren't many people who would be willing to spend so much time and effort to help out a bunch of bicycle riding strangers. I am looking forward to seeing you all on the 2005 mv24. Thanks again!"
