| 2005 Museum of Transportation Auction at Tyson Research Center |
| September
24 & 25, 2005 - Our team assisted the St. Louis County Park Rangers
with traffic control and parking at the Museum of Transportation Vehicle
Auction at the Tyson
Research Center at I-44 and Antire Rd. The area is next to Lone Elk
Park and is owned by Washington University for nature research. The area
was selected for the auction because the vehicles had been stored in a
building onsite. The area was once owned by the U.S. military in the 40's
and 50's and has dozens of bunkers that were used to store .30 and .50
caliber ammunition for WWII and the Korean War. This was a two day event
with over 100 vehicles to be auctioned off. Potential buyers could view
the vehicles on Saturday and bid on the vehicles Sunday. People came from
all across the country for the auction. It rained heavily all day Sunday
due to the remnants of hurricane Rita but there was still a heavy turnout.
