| 2005 JB Park Flea Market |
| April
16, 2005 - 5:30am - 2:00pm - Two of our team members supervised parking
for the Jefferson Barracks Park Flea Market. The event was held on the
Visitor Center parking lot. Our team closed off the parking lot to traffic,
directed cars to park in a nearby field, and lined Grant Rd. with cones
to prevent people from parking on the small shoulder and blocking the
road. During the event unit 65 encountered a car with two suspicious males
inside. 65 asked unit 220 to follow the car through the park while he
contacted a St. Louis County Park Ranger. When the ranger arrived, 220
showed the ranger where the vehicle was located and what the males had
been doing. After briefly talking with the suspects, the ranger followed
the car and made sure it left the park. The ranger then contacted 65 and
220 and agreed with them that the males were "strange and up to something"
but he didn't have enough probable cause to search the vehicle. The ranger
told 65 and 220 that if they should see the car in the park again they
should contact him via Nextel and he will pull the car over. 65 and 220
never saw the car again that day. |
